Chicken Now or Chick-fil-A-ter

With a new Chick-fil-A opening inside of the Santa Anita Mall next to Chicken Now, people have began to wonder which chicken sandwich is better.
Since the Chick-fil-A in the Santa Anita Mall has not opened yet, you can try their chicken sandwich at their Pasadena location.

Chick-fil-A
At the Pasadena Chick-fil-A, the Chicken Sandwich Deluxe meal is $7. The sandwich is incredibly delicious and the waffle fries accompanying it are soft and fluffy.
The lettuce is fairly crispy and the thinly cut tomatoes are sweet. If you like pickles, adding them to your sandwich brings a nice crunch and a sour kick.
The buns are also firm and not squashed like other fast-food burgers.
The chicken patty is large, tender and juicy. The batter is crispy and the sauce in the sandwich gives it an extra punch of flavor.

Chicken Now
Chicken Now is towards the far end of the food court in the Santa Anita Mall, which is a short walk if you’re entering from the Cheesecake Factory entrance or the parking lot underneath AMC theater.
The regular chicken sandwich combo is about $10 and comes with a medium drink and fries. The Chicken Now sandwich has a large amount of lettuce that is much crunchier and not as wet as the lettuce in the Chick-fil-A sandwich.
The tomato slices were just as plump and sweet as Chick-fil-A’s. However, Chicken Now adds sesame seeds to their buns, which provides a nice crunch to every bite.
The chicken is tender and fried with a nice golden and crispy batter on the outside. Their batter tastes a bit peppery, and the chicken in the sandwich is fairly large and strips easily for a smooth bite.
Overall, Chicken Now’s chicken sandwich is superior. Even though Chick-fil-A’s sandwich meal with a medium drink and fries is $3 cheaper, the flavors of the chicken and the texture of the sesame seeds in the Chicken Now sandwich is worth the few extra dollars.
If you like a lot of lettuce, slightly peppery chicken and great sauce, you’ll want the Chicken Now sandwich. On the other hand, if you prefer a cheaper option with an equally good sauce and chicken batter, then Chick-fil-A is the fast-food place for you.
