The Board of Education introduced their choice for Superintendent, Dr. Kimberly Fricker, at their meeting on Jan. 9. They signed an employment contract during closed session, followed up by votes in open session for contract and employment approvals. Dr. Fricker, who currently works in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District, is expected to start in TCUSD late this week.
“Dr. Fricker stood out early in the selection process, and will bring a wealth of talent and experience to the superintendent position,” Board President Matt Smith said, according to the TCUSD website. “I am confident that our community will be very pleased with her selection.”
Dr. Fricker was selected in an extensive search process that included input from more than 450 community members and two rounds of interviews. She holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, a master’s in counseling and a doctorate in educational leadership. She also has experience as a teacher and principal, and currently works as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services in PVPUSD.
