TCHS ASBL decided to make some changes regarding Fun Food Friday, starting with the Chanos Restaurant taco Fun Food Friday that took place on Friday, Oct. 12.
In previous years, Fun Food Friday consisted of a variety of clubs promoting and raising money for their group by selling food from various vendors. This year, clubs were able to participate in Fun Food Friday by requesting taco tickets from ASBL and selling them to students for a set amount of time.
The changes were made partially to account for the fact that some campus clubs do not have money in their accounts at the moment and partially because some clubs struggled to find vendors and could not always make a profit.
In the past school year, ASBL attempted this type of fundraiser, and there was a limit to how many tickets each club could request. The rule was lifted this year, and ASBL provided clubs with tickets based on a first come first serve basis. Due to the high demand for tickets, ASBL printed more tickets to accommodate clubs that were originally unable to participate.
A total of 23 clubs were involved in selling taco tickets, and to provide more clubs with the opportunity to participate in the future, ASBL plans to give each club a set amount of tickets to start. In order to obtain more tickets, the club would have to sell all their tickets and turn in the money from the tickets they already sold.
ASBL plans to rotate between the original Fun Food Friday and the ticket Fun Food Friday to see which one clubs prefer before making any official changes.
