The girls of the zero period Fitness for Life class were absent for the rest of their classes on Feb. 21. Their substitute failed to open the door to the girls’ locker room all day, and they were unable to change clothes.
“They let the boys in as soon as they got to the door,” Freshman A.B. Sent said. “We couldn’t go to class because our backpacks were in the lockers. Plus, who would want to go to class in their PE clothes? That’s like totally gross.”
According to student reports, the person who usually unlocks the door is sole female Fitness for Life teacher Ms. Cher E. Picker, who was on strike that day for the Excited Workers of Physical Education (EWPE).
The substitute for her class, Mr. Stan Ding, was responsible for opening the girls’ locker room door but declined, calling it a woman’s job.
“I wouldn’t open that door for them in a million years,” Mr. Ding said. “Do you know how bad the perfume and lotion smell is in there? Too feminine for me. I’m much too manly for that, gosh darn it. The girls will be just fine waiting outside; it’ll build character.”
Fortunately for the zero period girls, Ms. Picker returned the following day with an EWPE pin and the students were only 10 minutes late to first period.
