Odesza
Some long time fans might know them better for their debut album, “Summer’s Gone.” But last September, they teamed up with singer-songwriter Zyra to produce “Say My Name,” an electronic dance hit that climbed to the seventh spot on Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart. This year, be prepared to see them all over the nation as they are playing at several festivals including, Coachella, Governors Ball, and more.
Bea Miller
After her audition in 2012 on “X Factor,” 16-year-old Bea Miller quickly released her extended play with its title song, “Young Blood,” last April. The track sounds like just another teen anthem, similar to “We are Young” but Miller’s young voice captures the emotion much more effectively. With lyrics like “When the sun don’t shine we lose our minds, but I swear, we can get there,” the track empowers teenagers to push through this phase of their lives. She has been touring with Demi Lovato and expects to release another album this July.
Shannon Williams
Though born in the United Kingdom with Welsh heritage, she already gained some popularity as a child when she was invited onto “Star King,” a Korean reality show. She was active in the Korean music industry early 2011, Shannon Williams didn’t create headlines until 2013, when she appeared on the variety show, “Hidden Singer.”
She released her latest mini-album, “Eighteen” early this March, and the lead single “Why Why” quickly gained 600,000 views. Its bubbly pop melody plays off of her innocent image featured in her teasers. Her singing and dancing might remind viewers of a Korean Ariana Grande.
