Basil
One of these beneficial seasonings is basil. Basil is a small green leaf often found in your local grocery store, but can also be easily home grown. Basil is used in many things. However it is most commonly found on phở plates with bean sprouts and mint. Basil can also be used in pasta and salad. Basil has a slight peppery taste.
If you feel stressed out during testing season, try adding two to three basil leaves to your tea. Basil has been proven to have antianxiety effects. This herb also contains vitamin A and K. Vitamin A is helpful for keeping your vision clear and your body healthy by strengthening your immune system. Vitamin K is useful in allowing blood clots to form to prevent excessive bleeding.

Oregano
Another common herb is oregano. Oregano is a type of mint, also commonly found in local stores. To use, strip the leaves from the stem before adding to your dish. This seasoning can be used to season many things, especially entrées containing tomatoes, including pizza, pasta, soup, stew, chili or meats. Although mildly bitter, many people enjoy and use oregano in their daily meals.
The natural oils in oregano help with acne, dandruff and insect bites. Oregano also has vitamin K, iron, manganese and other important minerals for health. In addition, the high amount of antioxidants found in oregano boosts the immune system to fight off infections. Since it’s so easy to incorporate into recipes, it’s equally easy to reap the benefits of this healthy herb.

Curry Powder
Although it is expected to be a spice, it is actually a mix of different spices, usually turmeric, coriander and cumin. This mixture is in curry, but it can also be used to marinate chicken and kebabs. A typical Indian marinade that is easy to make consists of plain yogurt, garlic, curry powder and other spices. After seasoning the meat, let it sit in the fridge overnight. Curry powder is found not only in local stores, but in Indian markets.
The turmeric in the powder contains a compound that studies show helps regulate insulin in the blood and can lower your risk of diabetes. The powder is great for athletes and the clumsy because it also helps speed up the healing of wounds and skin damage.
