The spotlight shined bright on April 18 as Mr. TC contestants stood shoulder-to-shoulder, anxiously awaiting the last-second poll results. The audience grew loud, cheers and applause roaring throughout the room as emcees Melanie Cho and Erin Coligado announced the 2023 Mr. TC winners.

The night concluded as Eros Wong, Isaiah Douglas and Emilio Velasquez earned the titles of Mr. TC, Mr. Congeniality and Mr. Fan Favorite, respectively.

Consisting of pick-up lines, choreography, talent shows, questionnaires and various judging activities, Diego Gonzales, Douglas, Jeremy Bauzon, Wong, Nina Chiang, Velasquez and Ethan Ramirez attempted to win the hearts of the judges and crowd.

ASB, Pep and Dragonflicks organized the event with judges AP Psychology teacher Matthew Lopez, Activities and Athletics Office Manager Dianne Blank and Pep Advisor Marta Bourjelli voting for the winner of the Mr. TC title. Viewers voted for Mr. Fan Favorite through a Google Form and candidates voted for Mr. Congeniality among themselves.

“Doing this event was something out of my norm and was most definitely something that took courage to do,” Wong said. “I didn’t expect to win, especially the main award, but I would say that my goal was to have fun and set an entertaining performance for the crowd. I loved the event and the people who all contributed to it.”
