Juniors and seniors with off-campus passes can eat lunch at a number of small businesses.
Sushi in the Box
Rating: 4/5
A 20 minute walk from school, Sushi in the Box offers affordably priced rolls and bento boxes. Their sushi rolls are fresh, coming in both single and party trays. The glistening salmon sashimi will melt in your mouth while tiny spicy tuna rolls pack a big punch.
Customers can place their order through the phone and pick up orders at a walk-up
window. However, Sushi in the Box opens at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and reopens at 5 p.m., making it better to stop by during school hours. Due to the long wait, it might be an inconvenience to go during the one hour lunch period.
Sunright Tea Studio
Rating: 3/5
Sunright Tea Studio is a popular boba shop with convenient service and a wide selection of over 50 drinks.
With their large variety of choices they bring a fresh twist to the scene with brûlées,
lattes and frostie drinks. Located within President Square Food Court, Sunright is an 18 minute walk from school. Kiosks and online ordering provide convenience, but their card-only payment systems are major drawbacks for high schoolers.
Sunright knocks it out of the park with their sweet honey boba, variety of refreshing teas and delicate blend of flavors making it the go-to destination for a hot day. However, Sunright tends to be pricier than its competitors. Their drinks average at around six dollars with tax, which may be too expensive for students.
Rose Donut & Sandwiches
Rating: 5/5
The locally owned Rose Donut shop offers fresh donuts daily, perfect for a quick stop before or during the school day with a 15 minute walk. Rose Donut offers indoor seating with several tables, quick service and reasonable prices.
Besides donuts, the shop offers muffins, cronuts and drinks as early as five in the morning. In addition to their signature sweet treats, the shop also provides savory deli sandwiches on the spot.
Students with an ASB card can get a 10% discount on their order. Don’t miss out and visit during the day as the shop closes at 3 p.m.
